The Wanlockhead RR suits me better as I can't make the Battle o' the Braes
due to travel.
Paul's suggestion of the last SWSCP RR would be good. |

The trouble with the Lammermuirs/Wanlockhead/Battle of the braes is that they are all either 2/3/4 or E/1/2/3/4 for the Wanlockhead one, meaning the chances of all the Albertos getting a start are pretty slim as the majority are 4th cat.
Myabe not ideal that the next SWSCP one is the end of september but at least you know you have an entry once you pay? |

I really wanted to do this race but work gets in the way again
Rik will be favourite, but Paul is going well - my money is on Vulture Boy |

All the best, guys.
'Check the tyres, keep out of trouble, and keep eatin' and drinkin'', (advice I remember from the dim and distant past) and all of you will be up there with a great chance.

Derek, I think you should do some odds for the race. Scott is also racing now!
Before you go installing me as runaway favourite, might want to factor in that I'm out in Glasgow for a mates bday tonight. Oh, and I'm crap |

Ok here's how I see it....
I understand it's a relatively flat course, so I see Scott forcing an early breakaway, but doing too much work, blowing up and finishing down the field (no offence). Paul will hang on to the bunch all the way round, but with no hills and no sprint, will finish mid bunch (no offence). Stevie B's going well and although he's been strong on the climbs, will like the flatish course and will finish well up the field. Rik will be there mixing it at the end and will finish in the top five, however Keith will make a solo break 2 miles from the finish (after catching Scott's breakaway) and will time-trial to the finish, just hanging on in front of the bunch and winning the race........ or something like that.
Checked the official odds at Willie Hills (to be crowned 'Albert Road Race Champion 2011): -
RikEH - Evens
Paul - 11/10
Keith - 2/1
Scott - 5/2
Stevie B - 5/1
Not the most generous I agree......
Good luck guys _________________ Second place = best loser!
