|
|
I meant to bring this up at the A.G.M., but i would like to see the Club Road Race championship decided the way it used to be by picking a local Road Race if possible and else where if not. A race would be picked before the season starts again if possible by the club members interested in taken part, and the rules are simple the first Royal Albert rider over the finish line is the club champion.
As their is a committee meeting happening on monday weather permitting i was wondering if the point could be brought up or is this an idea other members would like to see happen? |

aye it was always the mid championship, also there was a road race trophy, for points for placing in all races except apr,s ,i think it should be put on the forum and up on the board in the clubroom, every trophy available through the season, distances ect,and dates,i also meant to bring this up at the agm,but didnt get a chance, |

Thanks Paul, Smudger and i may look half daft and you'd be right but this is nothing new to us because this is the way the club used to work but with the membership growing and amount of new members taking part in road races i believe things should change so you have a goal, so come on lets hear your views |

First guy over the line win's in mass start road race. Club could pick a road race event that is run most years, MAY DAY GALLOP in falkirk would be a option as it's a mid scotland event and is run year in year out keep it simple. 1st senior in road race win's club road race championship
1st vet over the line win's vets club road race championship. Thats my take on it, if you have a view on it let's hear it ! IF NOT JOIN THE COMMITTEE ! _________________ It's better to burn out than fade away... |

the may day gallops an apr,not a road race,if it,s the mid we want it would have to be the billy warnock memorial, which is a super 6 series race,so we would be off in two separate races, and its sometimes hard to get a start,as places are filled quick, the forum is not where we have to discuss these matters,it,s at the committee meeting,we discuss the issue, then put it to the body of the club,it,s not just the road race championship,we have to talk about,it,s the dates, and distances for every championship and event, and we have to do it soon,so every rider can try and peak for a particular event, sorry for ranting on,but i feel strongly about this issue,as every club iv been in and thats quite a few,as someone will probably point out,so ill get it in first, you always knew the dates shortly after the agm. committeeeeee member, smudger.ill go now iv ran oot ae ink. |

I could be wrong John but that's just what i've already said, as for the mayday gallop this is an A.P.R. and even if it wasn't i don't think this is a suitable type of road race as it's far too flat, it's great for you and me john but the climbers may not be that keen. A bit of everything is what you want so that everyone has an equal chance and that's my take on it. |

do you mean the clubs apr,s yeh that should still be a points system, thats a separate trophy, also your right about helping in races, thats what team cyclings all about, its good to see a guy winning from the club, gives us a better profile, but there is always the one race we pick ,as a one off club championship. the clubs going great, lets keep it that way, best iv seen in all the years iv been in it.but we have to agree things at the meetings, with the members. |

Agree.
Club APR series should be kept as it is and have this one nominated event where it is just first over the line gets the club trophy.
It's only one race, so there will still be plenty of other races where we can 'work together'. |
