Six Went To Gentaggart....
Big John, Little John, Brown John, John-George, Jim-John and Yours-Truly-John set out for a jolly jape to Glentaggart, planning on lashings of ginger beer at the Pathhead Cafe (of which more later).
For the first time in weeks, an even number of guys (joy!) meant pairs-riding which would have made the Red Arrows green with envy, smoother than the ink in an astronaut's ballpoint pen.
Great to see Johns Big and Little out with the group, especially digging really well over the Col de GlenTaggart. Yours truly sweating like a butcher's donkey as per usual.
George was quieter than normal, but when you've managed 123 miles the day before, it's 'chapeau' rather than chatter!
Slab's Balearic holiday was now clearly out of his legs as he showed some Sagan-esque bike skills on the descents, with Jim putting in a metronomic performance in the vanguard.
The only downside to a great day was the jaw-dropping response when George, having bought a coffee, a cake and a can of Coke in the Pathhead Cafe, asked for a fill of his water bottle from the kitchen tap, and was charged 80p for the privilege!!!!!
Shocked
You have been warned.....
