Club Social Runs

This Sunday, the Club Run that meets at the Clubroom at Wellgate Street, Larkhall at 9am, will take the form of a Beginners run.

This runs will suit riders who are new to the sport; returning to cycling, or anyone who just wants to get used to, and enjoy, riding in the company of a group.

The pace will be slow and the distance set to suit the abilities of those present and the pace will remain that of the slowest, and no one will be left behind.

Also, excellent training ground for anyone interested in riding Cycle Sportives or moving eventually onto faster groups within the Club.

There will usually be a caf stop too, which enhances the social aspect of such runs. Very Happy

All are welcome, but any faster riders present would be expected to either ride as above, or form a separate group. In this way, slower riders can develop their skills without fear of keeping people back or being dropped.

Please post here if you are interested in coming along, whether or not you are currently a member of the Club. If this type of run is successful, then it will be repeated in future.

Thanks.

Dennis

It was good to see new riders, John and Lynn, out with us for the first time yesterday. James Skinner made up the group of four and we had a good run out to Loudon Hill and back via Dungavel.

40 miles at a nice, easy pace, a few brief stops and brilliant sunshine!

It was unanimously agreed that a 'Beginners' Run' is the only way to get 'new cyclists' to participate in the Club runs, as they know that, whatever their ability or level of fitness, the run will suit them.

And, of course, there was the cafe at the end... Very Happy
