Route 1 looks fine for me. I did similar in reverse just over a week ago. I am working on the assumption that the place names are a guide only cos if we go into Carstairs Junction we would have to double back. Think that would be a right at Pettinain instead. There is also the option to go straight out of Biggar and stay on the A702 through Coulter turning right onto the B7055 just after Lamington. Perhaps slightly quieter traffic wise. Six and half a dozen distance wise. Just a thought.. |

Great work on the club run's, rikeh route 1 looks good for slow to mid fast group, route 1 also for the fast group as you will have to work harder to catch us given we 15min's up the road. _________________ It's better to burn out than fade away... |

Route 1 came from a sketch map from Willie and I think you're right, Brian when you say it seems to be a guide only.
Looking at a more detailed map, however, which I'll bring tomorrow to discuss with Willie (if you're out tomorrow, Willie). If not, and just to be clear, I suggest that we take the A73 after Hyndford bridge for a mile, then turn left to Pettinain, then right for Covington and Thankerton.
I also suggest that the Route back from Biggar goes via Symington and Wiston, as this will take us away from the busy A702 Biggar to Abington road. Although we'll be on the A73 for a couple of miles, I think it's a better option.
Again, just to be clear, we will stick to Willie's suggestion of coming back up the A74, as opposed to Fockerton Mill.
