Actually, now that I think about it, I've got a rear bike carrier, which I think can take 3 bikes, I'll check that in the morning. So I could take another 2 guys. With Smudger, Brian and myself driving, does that give us enough or do we need one more vehicle?

The Slab spoke to me about travelling in my car some time ago so I would assume that is still the case. If we can tie down exactly who is travelling with who. I've got a foam bike separator somewhere if you need it for that rear bike carrier?

This link will take you to event details

http://www.handsonevents.co.uk/Events/Bealach/Mor_details.htm

What time are others intending to leave? According to route planner, it's about a 5 hours drive, about 220 miles.

Personally, I would like to leave reasonably early and get a wee bike ride in when I get there. You can register on the Friday night between 6-8 pm

Smudger, you've got the list of who's going, can you try and work out who's travelling with who and who's left?

Brian I am still up with traveling up with yourself if that is ok, maybe we could all meet up and travel up together once we get the times sorted out . The slab.

Smudger - I can't think that anyone else said they were going.

Brian - Can you take me and Rik? I don't mind driving but my bike carrier only takes 3 bikes. Frankly, I'd feel safer if it wasn't just me and Rik in the car on country roads!! Thanks Smile

Derek. I will need to get roof bike carriers to take you and Rik. I now oly have one usable one as the other one I had wasn't fit for purpose. I know someone else who has one I could maybe borrow. If I can get all 4 bikes onto the roof then yes

iv got a couple of roof bars, lying out the back, ill check them out,and can get one from charlie,so no worries .brian, iv done the event before, and stayed at the same hotel.when we travelled up last time.we had lunch on the way up.got to the check in for 6pm.checked in,then went to the hotel.which is 14 miles north from the start, once we checked in we put the numbers on bikes, then went for a wee spin.the hotel is on the course 14 miles from the start,so we,ll have to drive down in the morning,or cycle.i was planning travelling up about 11am.

Thanks Brian, either way I'm not fussed. Mind you, the thought of Rik bumming about his Super Six B Race all the way there doesn't bare thinking about. I suppose as long as that's the only thing he's........ Shocked I'll leave it there Smile

I've got roof bars for the car and 1 serviceable Thule bike carrier. I know someone who has at least 1 Mont Blanc bike carrier and might even buy another myself cos I need 2 anyway. Looking for the type of carrier that locks the bike on the main tube. I had no fixed time for travelling but did plan to set off reasonably early on the Friday. One thing is for sure - I will not be cycling to the start line!

Smudger, if you can take 4 including yourself who is that going to be? I am going to see if I can borrow another roof bar bike carrier tonight from a work colleague. Depends on how many are travelling with me, but if it is more than the 2 of us in one car I will need other roof bar bike carriers (4 if there are 4 of us travelling together - none if it is just 2 of us as I will use rear of car). 10am set off sounds ok to me.
I would fully intend to leave as soon as we could on the Sunday. Don't want to be hanging about.
