Would just like to say how great it was to see so many people out on the club run today. Must have been over 20 people. Think the format of the club run worked great today making it enjoyable for all. Hope to see these numbers stay the same over the coming months. _________________ It never gets easier, you just get faster. |

I'll second that, enjoyable run! Good to see such healthy numbers, hopefully it continues for the weeks to come too. |

Absolutely fantastic to see 25 people on the road!
Good format, and I think it's vital that everyone continues to meet at the clubroom before the two groups leave, and to meet up at the cafe afterwards. This keeps us all in touch and add to the cameraderrerry.
Whether or not the fast group takes the same route as the slow group is, I think, up to them, and maybe others have a view on that.
Might be a good idea to phone the cafe at the start of the run to say roughly how many riders are expected to arrive for lunch. I think this would help them to speed up the service, as they brought in the cavalry a but too late today.
After pushing me up the last hill to Blackwood, Davie Millar deserves to join the club! Thanks Davie!
Let's prove that the high numbers today were not just a one-off, so let's try to increase it next week.
I would like to have a photo shoot in the car park next Sunday, for both the press and the website. So let's have everyone out. Club kit, if you have it, would be good. [NB note added 22/11/10 - this date has changed - please see General below and note on website.]

Great to see so many on the road I agree the two groups work well - would still work even with half as many, meeting just before 10am to discuss the route, allowing the slower group to depart at 10. We should do the same route to allow the groups to merge, and as happened today, a couple of guys to swap groups. An additional loop may be required for the faster group if we all want to reach Pathhead at the same time and phoning ahead to let the cafe know roughly how many are going seems a good idea too.
It wouldn't do any harm to post a suggested route on the Forum prior to the run, but we really need to make the final decision on the day, depending on numbers and weather.
One final point (Dik Sutherland), riders who turn up at 10.10 lose the right to have any say in the route!
Eh.... all that said...... can't make it next week - working! _________________ Second place = best loser! |
