Folks, just starting a new thread for this one to avoid confusion Confused

Club Championships, but all welcome........

We will meet at the clubroom at 10am then cycle to the bottom of Millheugh Brae to start the race at 10.30am.

For those who want to time their training runs on it in advance, the start is on the rise between the roundabout and bridge, before you turn over the river to climb the hill. The finish is about a mile up the road, at a sub-station fence a few yards before the road junction. The good news is that there is a downhill section about half way up! Smile

Last year's results:-

1st scott anderson time 3m 53.09sec
2nd jim paton 3m 59.04sec (1st vet)
3rd keith anderson 4m 15.15sec
4th paul ramsey 4m 20.28sec
5th derek hamilton 4m 21.33sec
6th john campbell 4m 41.38sec
7th steven brennan 4m 42.09sec
8th vincent lunny 4m 47.15sec
9th stuart duncan 4m 59.39sec
10th tommy murray 6m 59.04sec

The publication of last year's results has caused Jim 'Postie' Paton's odds to be slashed. He's now installed as second favourite!!

Current odds: -

Scott (evens)
Jim (11/10)
Keith (2/1)
RikEH (5/1)
Charlie (less Smudger) (6/1)
Me (6/1)
Paul (8/1)
Stevie B (8/1)
Darren (8/1)
Contador (12/1)
Derek B (12/1)
Red Rocket (25/1)
Smudger (25/1)
Les (50/1)
Sonny (50/1)
Tommy Murray (100/1)
Tommy Bell (250/1)
Dennis (1000/1)

The Slab (non-runner)

Any thoughts?

The odds are that I don't ride hillclimbs anymore, Derek!

How about Jocky, Stuart and Paul? Cool

In light of that revelation Dennis, you are now the rank outsider at 1000/1!! Smile

Any thoughts you ask Derek. Yes, you have way too much time on your hands.

Also good to see the current Albert hillclimb champ gets his excuses in early. I, on the other hand am going on holiday for 2 weeks where I will be drinking lots of beer, eating fatty foods and doing no cycling at all, so I don't have time to make up any excuses.

Come to think of it, I'll only be back a few days and the hillclimb will be upon on, anyway, I digress, so who wants to be second to hand in an excuse behind Scott?

I think you may need to lengthen my odds Derek! 2 weeks holiday at an all-inclusive hasn't done much for my ability to fight gravity Laughing I'm more ice cream than blood at the moment.

I demand to be installed as the favourite for the cake-eating back up at the clubhouse afterwards though. Fancy my chances of winning that one after all the practice i've had the last couple of weeks Very Happy
