ROAD RACE REPORT
Three groups started on the night.
1st group alex (red rocket)douglas sandy bain, davy fairweather, les mckenzie, 8mins lead on 2nd group and 9mins on scratch group.

2nd group john (the slab)campbell, derek hamilton, derek burnside, darren stewart, jim paton, steven brennan, jocky johnstone.

scratch group stewart (red) mcgregor, paul mcnally, rikeh sutherland, scott anderson, paul ramsey.
The race is on as the first group started and look like they where not hanging around as the red rocket and sandy bain set the pace with les and davy hanging on , 8mins later the second group took off and were into the serious business of bike racing with all the guys working well together going through and through, and racing well as they form into team time trial mode and average speeds of 30mph at times the race was on, by this time the scratch group had also started with stewart mcgregor leading the way and was going flat out with his team mates to catch the groups in front. This he did at the end of the third lap catching the 2nd group on the road on the climb looking super strong honest he did'nt pay me to say that, only paul mcnally was strong enough to jump across to his wheel, but not for long as the wee man got rid of him on the climb in the 4th lap for the 2nd bunch only to pick up paul who worked well with us in trying to catch the red mcgregor but it was,nt to be as he was flying as he had been for the full race as his 3rd place on the night speaks volumes of the man as he nearly caught the first group for 9mins,only to finish behind alex douglas 1st (the red rocket) 2nd sandy bain great ride by sandy and alex as they held of stewart mcgregor to reach the line 1st and 2nd in the race, The second group also worked very hard but could still not catch stewart who finish just in front of us at the finish line well done to red mcgregor for making it a great race, also well done to all the guys who race on the night as they gave 100% on the night. The results are as follows 1st alex douglas,2nd sandy bain,3rd stewart mcgregor,4th les mckenzie,5th paul mcnally,6th paul ramsey,7th rikeh sutherland,8th jocky johnstone,9th derek hamilton,10th darren stewart,11th john campbell,12th davy fairweather,13th derek burnside,14th scott anderson. steven brennan dnf as he try to do a lance armstrong move on the 3rd lap after the hollandbush on the downhill section at the sweeping bend he went straight on only to look like bronco billy !as he race over the grass
and his race was over. Many thanks to john pardo who took over from dennis as he was having a holiday in oban what a life he's got, also to the marshalls wee tommy murray, big jack campbell, jim hastie, and the cheer leaders dave smith and partner who was it dave!all in all a great nights racing.PS THE ROAD RACE WILL BE BACK ON NEXT WEEK 25 8 2010 AS THERE ARE ROAD WORKS ON THE CANDERSIDE TOLL 10ML TT
COURSE. all the best in sport the slab.
