Tuesday 2nd August was my first Bundy of the season - better late than never!! It was good to meet Derek and Vinnie at the start.
I got dropped but managed to catch up due to bypassing the steep climb up to Lanark. I was just behind the bunch as we approached Carluke - Greg (from Dooleys) came back to tow me along. I took the shorter route through Carluke (too many traffic lights) and managed to get ahead of the bunch.
They caught me just after Newhouse, but I managed to hang on to the lead bunch. The roundabouts through Ravenscraig were mental - wet roads at 30+ mph, then an oncoming car decided to turn right!! Thankfully the car stopped, otherwise it would have been carnage. Greg won the sprint and I was only a few meters behind surprisingly.
Next time I will try to stay nearer the front. Also, no more short cuts! Embarassed

Well done Thomo, Bundy's always hard but Tuesday was particulalry brutal!! Got popped myself just before Newhouse. No substitute for just keeping doing it...... see you on Tuesday Smile

Thanks Derek, I really enjoyed the Bundy on Tuesday night, good to meet you and Vinny. I cheated a bit with the short cut, but like you say I should improve after a few more attempts.
Unfortunately I am relegated to the gym bike for a couple of weeks out here in Amman. My next Bundy will be 23rd August.
