This is a letter published in the Lanark Gazette yesterday about the cycle lane from Lanark to Hyndford Bridge.

It criticises the way road cyclists ride, what they wear and the price of their bikes!

Anyone want to reply to it by writing in?...Cool Twisted Evil

What's required here is someone who can articulate the sense of injustice felt by cyclists, treated as second class citizens by corrospondents such as RJ Ford. Our vulnerability on the road. Our desire to be treated, not favourably, but merely as equals. Someone who can take the moral highground by acknowledging that cyclists do, on occasion, err. Moreover someone who is confident enough in the legitimacy of his own actions to offer a metaphorical olive branch, by thanking the majority of motorists, who do indeed, drive with care, and give us mutual respect. Someone who can seize the upperhand with sound rationale. A man conversant with the intricacies of the Highway Code, that can deliver the final blow with his in-depth knowledge of the laws of the land. Someone willing to champion the cause of the 'lycra warrier'. Dare I say.... a wordsmith!

I think we all know who I'm referring to and he's penned the following.... "That guy's just a d!ck!" R. E. Sutherland Royal Albert CC Evil or Very Mad

Not that I don't like your reports Derek its just a great contrast in styles Smile .Both are equally good.
Unfortunately the eight minute starts may already be a thing of the past as last Wednesay saw me trailing round for three laps on my own
