Please have a look at the What's On page for information about this event.

http://www.royal-albertcc.com/whats-on/

The Club will be taking a stall there to promote the Club and the Go-Ride Scheme. There is huge potential for 'capturing' potential Go-Ride participants for our coaching and fun-race sessions at the Kart Race Track. Please contact Alan Kain if interested in helping to man the stall.

There's also a hilly 50 mile ride up the valleys of the Clyde, Nethan, Mouse, Douglas and Avon, which will be a good challenge to most of us.

It is hoped that there will be a Roller Racing Demonstration (with have-a-go hands on) but that is not yet certain.

Please download a poster and hand it in to any relevant outlet in your area. Thanks.

The event will be advertised in all the 6 area versions of the Hamilton Advertiser on Thursday 26th May.

Many thanks to Club members (and Go-Ride coaches) Celia Tennant and Alan Kain for setting up a fine Club stall at this event, and to John Campbell for covering at lunch time.

The giving of such time and commitment in the interests of the Club is important and is very much appreciated. This was an excellent 'shop window' for both the Club and the Go-Ride Scheme for under 17s which we are about to roll out. Such integration into the wider world of cycling is important for both the development of the Club and the introduction of local youngsters into the world of cycling.

In addition, Celia and Alan collected the contact details for about 15 parents who are interested in their children participating in the Go-Ride Scheme. This list of names provides a good starting base for involving youngsters in practice coaching sessions later this year.

Meanwhile, Vinny Lunny, Graeme Higgins, Jim Lauchlan and myself took part in an associated 50 mile hilly ride in the valleys of the Clyde, Nethan, Mouse, Douglas and Avon. When the bunch of 22 rolled off the ramp at Chatelherault a piper played, 'Will ye no' come back again'. And know what? We all did. Very Happy

See the News page of the website for a link to Hamilton STV report and pics of the Big Bike Day event. See pics in Gallery also.
