26 riders turned out for the cold start today.
6 riders picked a route round Sorn, and the main bunch of 15 tagged along until Stonehouse where they turned for Sandford and the Muirkirk loop.
A good pace was set with everyone getting round no problem.
The remaining riders picked a shorter loop, with 2 groups meeting up at the Pathead cafe.

And if anyone was wondering Alex did get his cheese toastie Laughing

In respectful tribute to my late cheese toastie, it was both very cheesy and toasty warm. Thanks to all for their concern - it's greatly appreciated.
(I suppose I should consider myself lucky that they didn't charge me an extra 80p for hire of the seat...)
Fantastic run yesterday - burgeoning group and great to see everyone riding in red arrows-like formation.

Yes, it was great that so many riders were out on Sunday.

An update on the 'slow' group - five riders followed the main bunch route to Sandford then turned over the the Deadwaters/Brackenridge road to Coalburn, Mill Road, Hawksland and back to the safe haven of Margaret's Cafe to the volumous buzz of a cycling club at large.

With an average speed of only about 10-12mph over the 40 miles, this group is an ideal platform for beginners, after-a-while-come-backers and various types of 'recuperators'. So, if you know anyone who falls into any of these categories, or any other relevant category I've never heard of, let them know about this run.

John G, Martha, Andy, Martin and myself thoroughly enjoyed this run, although Martin had an unfortunate fall on the way back towards Devonburn. But being the tough guy that he is, he was soon up and away.

From this platform riders can, if they wish, move on in due course to the next level of run, and to that end the Club could form an intermediate group from which ambitious riders could, in turn, move up the fast group. Or maybe just stay where they are...
