Great turnout tonight considering the weather 9 guy's turn out in lashing rain it never let's us down! On the bright side it was good to see new faces joining the group, Keith, Mark, Arther, And the hard core guy's Jim lauchlan, Lee sallis, Jack cheape, Alan barr, Alex barr, The Slab, Change of route tonight due to the football match taking place at parkhead. cycle run was HAMILTON, QUARTER, MILLHEUGE, LARKHALL, HAMILTON, UDDINGSTON. All the guy's enjoy the run even in the rain ! Was good to see Alan barr out tonight after a long lay off due to injury he was going well considering and has'nt lost any of his desenting skills as he was going downhill and into the corners like a bullet. As this is the last mid week run tonight I will be looking into spin fit classes to keep the groups fitness up, also not to forget the club sunday runs which will be taking place throughout the winter all the best for now The Slab. I've never cycled in a washing machine, but last night was close.
When I started out with The Albert last November, everyone said how much they were looking forward to getting their summer bikes out, cycling in short sleeves and getting a cyclist's tan.
They made it sound so enticing.
This year, I've been on the bike TWICE in sunshine, gone through three different pairs of overshoes trying to find ones that don't leak like a colander at the merest hint of moisture and had to wring out my gloves, jersey and socks before putting them into my bag last night.
(It was still great last night though - nine guys sharing the joy of cycling and each trying desperately not to be at the back of the bunch getting soaked by the sprinkler-like spray coming off the wheels of the other eight....Magic!! Very Happy )
