Is anyone up for doing this? Wee bit pricey at 35 but the big route looks good.

Route http://connect.garmin.com/activity/151428791#

I'll be doing it but would be good to have some company..

I looked at that Peter. It's the same day as the Royal Albert TT in Cambusbarron I'm afraid. I will be doing that.

With 25-30mph winds gusting up to 50+mph, torrential rain and flooded roads this was an attritional ride to say the least.

It really was one of those "why am I doing this" days (if it hadn't been for the 35 entry fee...).

Good route on any other day, but yesterday's climbs into a howling headwind were soul destroying, and the descents were butt-clenchingly scary in places due to the side gusts and flooding.

On the upside the facilities and catering were great - loads of good food at the food stops and also afterwards (soup, macaroni cheese, chilli and rice).

At the end of the day I placed 64th overall and 7th in the over 50's category, so quite happy with that. If I hadn't stopped for a sandwich at the 70k feed-station it could have been a top 30 finish looking at the times...more grub in the pockets next time...

Cool
