Rode the new Millar Sportive on Sunday.

Great course, plenty of tough climbs over Millar's old training roads and the heat certainly played its part.

The ride started directly opposite Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre where the organisers had plenty of parking etc for riders. The registration and finish was at the centre itself with all facilities, food/drink available.

The 95 mile riders were sent off in three groups of around 20 with 2min intervals.

Didn't manage to get with a group on the road after the Tak Ma Doon splintered the bunch, so just boxed away and enjoyed the sun and Trossach's scenery. Completed the run solo in 6hrs 35mins with stops (6hrs 22mins ride time).

The course was well signposted, marshalled and had 3 well stocked feed stations available - a well organised event

Properly endorsed Sportive too - which makes the difference.

A hard day but rewarding day in the saddle.

Cheers G

Agreed, great effort. Just going over the Tak Ma doon in Sunday's heat would have been hard enough without the rest of the 95 miles.
