Thanks lads, was a good race Very Happy

My tuppence worth...

We got to the start after 1 shop stop, 2 pee stops, 1 poo stop and also despite Ricky having set his sat nav to take us up a 'dirt track'. Thankfully me and Stevey managed to reprogram the satnav before Ricky finished another of his pee-breaks.

Group of 4 went up the road after a couple of miles, bunch pulled them back a bit, but then they started dragging the gap back out a bit. Thats when the attacks started & Ricky sums it up well. Was nice to see 4 Albertos at the front of the race, even if it didn't last!

I'd tried to get across & into the break twice and the moves had been shutdown, but still the vulture continued to circle....

Third time lucky, 2 Ayr roads boys and Steven Robertson fae the bundy jumped off the front of the bunch to bridge across & although still breathing out my chuff from the last attempt I decided this looked like a move I needed to get in, so the vulture swooped down off the front of the bunch and bridged over.

Got up to the break shortly after, the 10 of us worked well, gap up to about 1m25s with 10miles to go. The last 6 miles was just people trying their luck from the break, getting chased down/recovering/attacking etc etc.
Just went a bit too early at the end, couldn't keep it going in last 100m.

Also had enough crystallised salt on my face at the end for a weeks worth of chippy dinners Laughing

Anyhoo, if you haven't raced much or at all this year, get a good winter behind ya and get out there next year. Great fun when your not puncturing, crashing, cramping, missing the breaks, getting dropped, blowing up and bonking Razz

Ignore him Paul he's just a bad loser. 'Rik Van Minted' doesn't like the idea of being beaten by a scrawny, vulture like creature, who lives with his mum and dad, has no car and can't even drive, is hen-pecked by a 'girlfriend' who no-one has actually seen, and everyone suspects is in fact a big bearded bloke - as result Van Fathead feels the need to try and put you down!

However, you are the Albert Road Race Champion and and no-one can take that away from you - except me next year Wink

Ye, I'm nosey, it's my job to be nosey! And that time I bonked going to the garage, well, I was coming down with a virus and really hadn't ate enough before making the journey...... stop betraying my confidence and ye, my new strapline is for your benefit...!! Twisted Evil

This petty squabble is detracting from an exellent performance from my mate Paul, given he's unlikely to achieve much else in his life, lets not deny him his moment - well done Paul! Smile
