If you have a spare hour or two, you could read all of it, but turn to any one of the 200-odd pages, read for 5 minutes and the picture is clear. |

Isn't most of it just dross.
I thought they were going to prove that Armstrong failed a drug test at the Tour of Switzerland in 2001 and he covered it up. The "evidence" of USADA is that he admitted doing so but of course he didn't admit it, Tyler Hamilton (completely discredited) alleged he admitted it. The UCI completely denies this and claims to have documentary evidence to prove it's version. Who is telling the truth? I could go on.
The only difference this time is George Hincapie, who seems to be honest, and he is quoted as saying
"Given the widespread use of performance-enhancing drugs by cyclists at the top of the profession, it was not possible to compete without them,"
Maybe Lance agreed |

Having browsed through the report, as a legal document, I really did is expect better from USADA. Whilst it is obvious now that Lance Armstrong clearly doped given the amount of ex-teammates who have admitted their doping practices the 1,000 pages of the USADA report is mostly based on hearsay, whispers and supposition. I just wish now, that Lance Armstrong would come clean and admit to his doping. I wonder how many other "greats" are keeping silent about their doping past?
I kind of feel sorry for Tour de France organisation. Their past winners is looking more of a roll call of the admitted and obvious dopers, ie. Anquetil, Coppi, Riis, Fignon, Pantani and Ullrich. How many others?
Famous Coppi conversation from tv interview:-
Question: Do cyclists take la bomba (amphetamine)?
Answer: Yes, and those who claim otherwise, it's not worth talking to them about cycling.
Question: And you, did you take la bomba?
Answer: Yes. Whenever it was necessary.
Question: And when was it necessary?
Answer: Almost all the time |
