Good luck to George Johnston, starting a 9 day Lands End to John-o-Groats ride this morning.
Hopefully we'll get some progress updates, and keep everyone informed |

Day 3 in the bag now for George, 99 miles from Bath to Ludlow.
Looks to be cruising along,
we might be in for some fast winter runs. |

108 miles at an average of 16mph for the bold George today.
Windy, rainy and "brutal" terrain en route to Haydock Park racecourse.
The Sunday runs with the Albert obviously helped enormously to ensure George was well prepared for the monster stints - unlike some of his fellow entrants.
One of them, suffering a tad from a tender derriere, quipped: ""You know when a dragon breathes fire for the first time? Well that nostril is gonna hurt, isn't it? THAT is what I'm going through right now!!!" |

Day 5 - a hard day in the saddle for George
107 miles from Haydock Park to Penrith at an average of 15mph in the cold & rain.
Keep the spirits up,
you'll be on home roads for the next couple of days. |

Met George this morning, joined in with him and the bunch for the first couple of miles.
Looking fit and ready to tackle the Highlands.
Which took most of the day - 140 miles to Fort William, with savage winds going across Rannoch Moor, and through Glencoe.
Not long to go now, keep it up. |

They were spotted going through Uddingston this morning (not by me , far too early). I don't envy you today with the winds but great effort and not long to go now. |

Massive thanks to John Campbell, James Skinner and everyone at the club for all the support & advice leading up to the ride. Gaining the experience on the Sunday clubs runs & sportives this year made it possible. I know it would have been too big an ask for me otherwise
It was an amazing nine days...
