Smudger, I've got roof bars for my car. I have a Thule bike carrier, borrowed another Mont Blanc and bought another myself (I needed 2 anyway) so I can now put 3 bikes onto the roof of the car. John Campbell and Derek Hamilton were going to travel up with me. 10 am at the club suits me fine so long as that's ok with everyone else?

Have you seen the weather forecast then? It's no the best! So that should make the climb even harder. On the positive side the Bealach climb average is "only" 9.85% with the steepest part in the middle, about 20% There are 700 riders taking part so try and get a group and take some shelter from the wind and we'll all get round fine.

Great weekend. Good crack. Nice digs and fab food..

Official results have been posted on the Sport Ident website and photos are also on Northsport website. There is no search facility on the Northsport website so the photos are quite hard to find. There are a couple of good photos of Paul and a cracker of The Slab (just before he fell off) near the top of the climb.

Now that I have downloaded the details from my Garmin it shows that the total climbing was 6350 feet. I burned 6600 calories and my average heart rate was 163 Embarassed

Great effort brian very impressive stats looks like i will have to start training for real ,could not find my time for the hill climb even though i did dib at the bottom and the top ! Also, the photo on the northsport web site did look good through the mist, all in all it was a great week end great training, beautiful scenery, having a few beers with the lads, the only downside for me was having the crash on the mountain desent, mist and heavy rain + riders in front is not the best of weather for desenting down mountains, considering i hit the mountain wall at speed and then took flight down the ravine. i consider myself more than lucky to have been able to walk away with very little injury (fracture left knee) considering the terrain moss, rocks, ect, on a lighter note the race staff have rename the wall on the desent as slabs fell !
